Cowherd presents his three best college football bets for Week 7 (10/10) (Full Video at Bottom of Page)
"These are the strongest picks I've had all year."
In this week’s installment of Colin’s MARQUEE THREE, Colin is zoning in on USC at #9 Notre Dame, #10 Penn State at #17 Iowa, and #7 Florida at #5 LSU.
USC at (9) Notre Dame – (Spread: ND -10.5)
“This is very easy, I’ll take Notre Dame in a blowout win and easily cover. Since the start of last year Notre Dame is 16-2 and their only two losses were against Clemson and Georgia. Notre Dame is really good. They have ten sacks in their last two games, and they have 14 takeaways for the season, which is the third most in the country. This is a really, really well-coached football team, Brian Kelly knows quarterbacks and their defense is excellent. This is a program that is on the up and Notre Dame is a better program than they were two years ago. USC is the opposite and is an absolute disaster. USC has lost 7 of their last 11 games and are a bad football program. Clay Helton is 2-13 as an underdog straight up.”
PICK: Notre Dame 36, USC 23. NOTRE DAME -10.5
(10) Penn State at (17) Iowa – (Spread: PSU -3.5)
“This is actually a sneaky pick but I’m going to take Iowa plus 3.5. They lost at Michigan so everyone sells their Iowa stock, but Iowa is a top 5 defense in the country, and Nate Stanley their quarterback has actually been excellent at home –– 3-0, 8 touchdowns, 0 INTs. Penn State hasn’t faced a ranked team all year, and they struggled against the best team they’ve faced all year, Pitt. Their last 24 games on the road against ranked teams, Penn State is awful, and is 2-22. Iowa is at home, getting more than a field goal, with the better quarterback, and coming off a tough loss. I like their coaching staff, and I like them in this spot. I’ll take Iowa to upset Penn State.”
PICK: Iowa 22, Penn State 20. IOWA +3.5
(7) Florida at (5) LSU – (Spread: LSU -13.5)
“This might be my favorite college pick of the year, I’m taking LSU to blow out Florida. This is easy stuff. LSU might be the best offense in the country this year, they’re first in everything –– points, yards, passing, third down percentage. They’re 5-1 in their last 6 against Top 10 teams, only loss to Alabama, so they’re a good big game team. Joe Burrow had the worst game of his career against Florida last year, but this year he’s a Heisman favorite, and first in completion percentage, and first in yards. The Gators just came off a huge upset win against Auburn so it’s very hard to get 19 and 20-year-olds to get to that emotional level back-to-back weeks and I don’t think Florida can do it. I think LSU blows them out.”
PICK: LSU 40, Florida 21. LSU -13.5
